This Saturday, 12/22.  No better place to be in Colorado for a hip hop fix. yoursolution: Meet Spree Wilson, our featured out of town act for The Solution Showcase #11 on 12/22… Denver, meet ATLien Spree Wilson.  We first heard of Spree a few years back when he dropped “Word!” with one of his mentors No I.D. (video below) because well, we’ll check out anything No I.D. produces based on his work with Common, Jay-Z and such, not to mention the mentoring of his most infamous protege, Kanye West.  It took me a minute to get used to Spree’s voice and No I.D.’s strangely electronic beat but it grew on me, just as I was hearing other work of his pop up on albums/mixtapes with Novel and DJ Deckstream and realizing the full on scope of dude’s talent.  From there we heard a few more solo joints, “Pick You Apart” and some leaks from his critically acclaimed The Never Ending Now project which became staples in DJ sets at The Solution and while Low Key DJed at Guess. Meet Spree Wilson, our featured out of town act for The Solution Showcase #11 on 12/22…

Denver, meet ATLien Spree Wilson.  We first heard of Spree a few years back when he dropped “Word!” with one of his mentors No I.D. As The Solution Showcase #8 gets closer, we wanted to introduce you to the bill.  The month’s out of town headliner is Chicago MC & producer BrandUn DeShay, one of the best young talents in hip hop.  BrandUn first caught our attention with his song “Why You Gotta Zodiac Me Like That?” and his production work for Dom Kennedy (“Locals Only”), Casey Veggies (“Ridin Round Town”) & Odd Future (before parting ways with the group, at one point he was a member).

Since then, BrandUn has released a steady stream of quality mixtape releases (including Your Favorite! MixTape 2: Special Edition & Volume 3! Shouts to the Meadowlark, home of the The Solution Showcase & Goodness…They were featured in 5280 Magazine’s “best bars in Denver” issue… A few months back, 5280 Magazine published the list of the best bars in Denver and included The Meadowlark in their top spots for music.  That wasn’t enough though, they published a picture of DJ Dozen from The Solution Showcase #1 along with the article to make it that much sweeter.  I agree with them, the Meadowlark has been one of the best venues I’ve worked with!  Catch The Solution Showcase once a month and Goodness on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays all Summer long at this fine, award-winning establishment.
